Support

Need help with equipment, parts, servicing or a job already on site? Modern Equipment supports homes, shops, farms and workshops across Kimberley and the Northern Cape. From New Park to Upington, we help keep aircon, refrigeration, pumps and solar systems working when you need them most.

Local help when the job cant wait

Support at Modern Equipment starts with practical advice and quick follow-through. If a cooler is not holding temperature, a pump is losing pressure, or an aircon is struggling through a Kimberley heatwave, we help you work out the next step without wasting time. Our team knows the kinds of faults that show up after dust, power cuts and hard daily use.

We support clients across New Park, Kimberley, Roodepan, Galeshewe, Kuruman and Upington, with service on site or at our base in New Park depending on the work needed. For many calls, a clear description, a few photos and the equipment details are enough to point you in the right direction first.

What our support team handles

Our support line is there for questions on installations, servicing, repairs and spare parts. We also assist with commissioning on new work, where a system needs to be checked and set up properly before handover. If you manage a shop, lodge, workshop or small plant, we can help you keep records straight and reduce repeat faults.

  • Aircon installation and servicing queries
  • Refrigeration repairs and cold room build support
  • Ventilation installation advice
  • Pump installation and pump repair guidance
  • Solar backup installation support
  • Auto aircon service questions

Getting the right parts and information

Many delays come from wrong part numbers, missing specs or a mix-up on model details. Our parts and stores team checks what you have and helps identify what is needed before anything is ordered or fitted. That saves trips, reduces downtime and helps avoid mistakes on older equipment.

Please have the make, model, voltage, size or capacity ready if you can. For refrigeration jobs, it also helps to know the room size, door use and whether the unit has been running continuously. A little detail up front often means a faster fix later, especially on older systems that have had more than one repair over the years.

Support for load shedding and power issues

In the Northern Cape, power interruptions are part of daily planning. We help clients look at backup options for refrigeration, pumps and essential cooling so stock, water supply and working conditions are not put at risk. If your system needs to recover after an outage, we can advise on checks before switching back on.

  • Restart guidance after power cuts
  • Backup sizing for essential loads
  • Checks for low voltage and overheating
  • Advice for solar backed operation

Where needed, we can help make sure controls, protection devices and wiring are set correctly for the site. That kind of support can prevent avoidable call-outs and save a lot of trouble on busy days.

Commercial and site support for bigger jobs

For contractors, builders and business owners, support is not only about fixing faults. It is also about keeping a project moving. Our projects coordinator and workshop team assist with commissioning, handover notes and practical site checks so equipment is ready for use. If a room is not cooling evenly or a pump line is not performing as expected, we look at the full setup, not just the obvious symptom.

We work with clients who need dependable help on cold rooms, air conditioning systems, ventilation runs and pump installations. Clear communication matters on these jobs, and our team keeps things straightforward, with proper feedback and real time updates where possible.

Meet the people behind the support

Good support depends on the people answering the call. Our team includes Lerato Mokoena in Sales, Pieter Johannes Botha in the workshop, Ayanda Ndlovu on projects, Charlene Daniels in parts and stores, Thabo Molefe in field service, and Nadia September in customer support administration. At the head of the business is Marius Jacobus van der Merwe, who has guided the company since 2002.

This mix of workshop, field and office support helps us handle both quick questions and more involved jobs. Whether you are phoning from a home in Galeshewe or a site near Kuruman, you reach people who understand the equipment and the conditions it works in.

How to get support fast

Email us at info@modernequipment.co.za with your name, contact number, location and a short note on the problem. If you can include photos of the equipment, rating plate or fault area, that helps speed things up. For urgent refrigeration or pump issues, say whether the unit is still running, leaking, tripping or making unusual noise.

  • Tell us your town or suburb
  • List the equipment type and size
  • Explain when the fault started
  • Note any recent power issue or maintenance

We aim to give clear advice, not guesswork. If the answer needs a site visit, a repair or a parts check, we will point you to the next practical step.
