Modern Equipment has been part of New Park since 2002, and our work is built around real trade needs in the Northern Cape. We help homes, workshops, farms, shops and businesses with air-conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, water pumps, auto aircon and solar backup. That means every day brings proper hands-on work, from fault finding in Galeshewe to installations in Upington and service calls in Kuruman.
People who do well here are practical, reliable and willing to learn. We value neat work, honest communication and respect for customers. In this region, equipment has to cope with heat, dust, load-shedding and long travel distances, so we look for team members who understand why details matter.

What the work looks like
Some days are spent in the workshop testing parts, preparing equipment and checking tools. Other days are out on site in Roodepan, New Park, or further afield on installations and repairs. A technician might be servicing a split unit in a small business, checking a refrigeration fault at a cold room, or helping with a pump installation where water supply is under pressure.
We also support commissioning on new jobs, which means making sure systems are set up correctly and working as they should before handover. If you are the type of person who likes solving a problem properly rather than patching it up, you will likely fit in well.
What we look for in a CV
Please include practical experience, trade training, driver’s licence details if you have one, and the towns or areas you are prepared to work in. If you have worked in refrigeration, aircon, pumps, solar or auto aircon, say so clearly. Even if you are new to the trade, we still want to know about school subjects, apprenticeships, workshop exposure and any hands-on experience.

Working conditions and the kind of team we build
Trade work in the Northern Cape is not office-only work. You may be dealing with summer heat, dusty sites, power interruptions and tight timeframes, so we look for people who stay calm and work neatly. Safety matters to us, as does good communication with customers and other team members. If something changes on site, we want the right person to speak up early, not after a bigger problem has formed.
